QUINTA DAS MARVALHAS
CARM has chosen this Quinta to
install its olive mill as well as a new winery.

From this spot one has a wonderful
view over the olive groves and vineyards of the
Upper Douro, an area recognised for the production
of superior wines and oils.
The total area of this Quinta is
around 70 hectares, consisting of 28 hectares of
olive groves and 23 hectares of almond trees.
The soils are schistous, at an
altitude of between 160 metres and 450 metres,
mainly facing northeast and south. The varietals
are indigenous, Madural e Verdeal are
the olive varietals and Casanova and Parada
the almond ones.
During 2006 we begun the plantation of 30 new hectares of terrace vineyard.
Faced north and xistous soil make this new vineyard excellent for the production of Touriga Nacional, Sousão, Tinto Cão e Tinta Francisca, and, as always in our estates, in organic production.

We are waiting for the first vintage in this vineyard, which should happen in 2009.
